TWENTY years ago, my dad, Frank Harold Buggins, originally of Wootton, near Woodstock, and now living in Witney, wrote a small book of memoirs of his time in the Second World War.

He served in 17 Field Regiment 78th Division.

The book, in my eyes, is an invaluable insight into that period. It includes small photographs of the countries he visited.

Serious, amusing and poignant, it seems such a shame that it can’t be shared with others.

Last year he had a chap visit him and had some pages printed in a magazine, which was great.

However, we wondered if the whole book and photographs could be seen more widely.

Would any Oxford Mail readers have any idea of a society which would be interested in his story? There might be veterans who served in the same regiment who would also like to get in touch with my dad.

If so, could they contact me through the Oxford Mail letters page?
