A MOTHER in Blackbird Leys says she was forced to wait almost three weeks to have her rubbish collected from outside her home.

Mother-of-two Lucy Collins, of Merlin Road, said she phoned Oxford City Council every day for two weeks to get the stinking pile removed.

It was collected on Friday, January 8, but no one arrived to collect it again until Thursday, January 28.

Miss Collins said: “It was disgusting.

“Cats kept going in it and they were pulling nappies out and bits of food. It was nasty. I think it’s wrong I had to wait three weeks for it to be collected – it’s out of order.

“Everyone else in Blackbird Leys seem to have had theirs collected apart from us.

“I kept calling them and all they said was that someone would collect it but they never did.

“I must have rung them everyday for at least two weeks.”

Last night no one from Oxford City Council was available to comment on why it took so long for the waste to be removed.
