Two men and a woman were attacked by a machete-wielding gang who forced their way into a house in Bicester.

Police have launched an attempted murder investigation after five men burst into the house in Lapwing Close, at 8.10pm, yesterday.

A 29-year-old man was stabbed in the back and a 27-year-old man was stabbed in the leg and arm.

A 23-year-old woman was attacked with the machete and a bat then hurled through a first floor window.

All three were taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, where they remain today.

As the gang fled they knocked over a 40-year-old woman in the street who was not seriously injured.

Police remain at the scene this morning.

Det Insp Steve Duffy said: “I would like to reassure residents that we are carrying out a detailed investigation to identify the people responsible for this serious incident.

“I appeal to anyone, who has not yet spoken to police, and has information that could assist police enquiries to get in touch.”

The 29-year-old man and 23-year-old woman are in a serious but stable condition. The 27-year-old man is in a stable condition.
