A TEENAGE girl has been left shaken after she was mugged by a man wielding a truncheon.

The 15-year-old was walking along Leopold Street, off Cowley Road, at 7pm on Sunday when she was approached by a man who stood in her way.

He pulled out a truncheon and demanded her purse, which she handed over before he walked away.

Pc Andy Reid said: “The girl was a little shaken by the incident but thankfully unharmed.

“I would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and seen this man.”

The mugger is described as white, in his late 20s, 5ft 8ins tall, of slim build and with short light brown hair and a thin face.

He was wearing a dark blue or brown hooded coat with buttons and baggy dark blue jeans.
