A WINTER visitor paid a flying visit to Oxfordshire – having flown all the way from chilly Denmark.
Twitcher and former Newsquest Oxfordshire photographer George Reszeter spotted this fieldfare eating winter berries as he was driving through Eynsham on Sunday.
Mr Reszeter said: “I saw them eating these berries and I found somewhere to pull over and used my car as a hide.
“I was lucky, because they are quite nervous and they normally fly away.
“I’m a birdwatcher so I’m always on the look out.”
The bird belongs to the thrush family and has a very bold plumage. Fieldfares fly over from Scandinavia every winter, when the weather gets colder.
Mr Reszeter added: “They come over here when it gets really cold and we have lots of lovely berries. You normally see them here until about March.”
