BANK customers have fallen victim to criminals after card skimmers were attached to cash machines.

Two people's bank cards were swallowed by a device on a Lloyds TSB Bank cashpoint in Market Place, Faringdon, between 7am and 9am on Monday and Tuesday mornings.

Police also removed similar devices attached to the cashpoint at Lloyds TSB in Sheep Street, Burford, on Tuesday and again today.

It is not known how many more customers have lost their cards or money.

Sgt Kirsty Ellison said: “A device was used to retain the cards and record the information keyed in. The cards were then used in other areas.

“I urge people to be extra vigilant when using ATM machines and to report anything suspicious, both to your bank and Thames Valley Police."

Anyone with information should contact police on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
