THE threatened Marston Royal British Legion Club is holding a children’s Christmas party on Saturday.
The club, which owes more than £37,000 to HM Revenue and Customs, has been granted a stay of execution so it can trade over the crucial Christmas period.
Club bosses hope to raise a further £5,000 over Christmas to add to the £15,000 the club has already paid back to the taxman.
The Christmas party, which features a magic show and appearance by Father Christmas, runs from 6pm to 8pm. Tickets are £2 for adults and £1 for children.
The event will be followed by a horse racing evening .
