Thames Valley Police today issued photographs of three men they want to speak to in connection with conspiracy to steal offences.

Officers would like to speak to Thomas Charles Wheatcroft, 28, of Merrivale Road, Southsea, Portsmouth, Paul Hircombe, 43, of Albany Road, Southsea and James Hamilton Stanley Sharpe, 25, of Milford Road, Portsmouth, as part of Operation Sweepstake, an investigation by the Major Crime Unit into a conspiracy to steal large quantities of cash from gaming machines throughout England.

This investigation has identified a considerable number of offences suspected to have been committed since February 2009 with a substantial amount of cash having been stolen.

Det Sgt Rob Storrar said: “I would urge these men to come forward to speak to officers. Anyone with any information about their whereabouts should also contact police.”

Anyone with any information concerning the current whereabouts of any of these men is asked to call Thames Valley Police on 0845 8 505 505 and quote URN 830 15/12/09. If you don’t want to speak to police or leave your name, call the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
