It is perhaps surprising in the era of Big Brother that the city’s biggest estates have avoided the gaze of cameras for years.
Shopkeepers have said the issue has raised its head on and off for the past 20 years. Well, the wait is over.
Two cameras, costing £13,000 each, will be hooked up to the St Aldate’s Police Station control room.
It is positive in these lean times the money has been found for the cameras. We hope they will have the desired impact.
