Police today appealed for witnesses after a man was robbed in Headington.

At around 12.05am yesterday, a 20-year-old man was walking in The Slade when a black saloon car drove past. Someone shouted something out of the window and then three men got out of the car and approached the man.

They demanded he hand over his belongings. After sustaining a punch to the face, he gave the men £10 and they got back into the car and drove off.

Police said the man could not see what the robbers looked like as they had their faces covered by scarves and said they spoke with 'an Asian, Birmingham-sounding accent'.

Det Con Claire Argent said: “There were a few people around at the time and I urge anyone with any information that could help the police with their investigation to get in touch.”

Anyone with any information about the incident to contact Det Con Argent at Oxford police station via 0845 8 505 505, or if you don’t want to talk to the police or give your name, call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
