Councillors tonight voted through a 10p increase in car parking charges for motorists who park for less than an hour at city centre car parks.
Charges will also increase by 10p for drivers parking on evenings at Abbey Place, Gloucester Green, Oxpens, Westgate and Worcester Street car parks from Sunday to Friday.
In tonight’s executive board meeting at the Town Hall, the Labour administration also agreed to increase charges in Oxford’s suburban car parks by 10p for the first hour, and a further 10p for parking between one-two hours, Monday to Saturday.
The new tariffs are set to be introduced as soon as possible in 2010.
