Sir – I have read with interest the recent correspondence relating to better concert and theatre facilities in Oxford.
Like Professor Elliot (Letters, November 12), I have been impressed by concert halls in other towns and cities across the country which offer the comfort and facilities which modern audiences demand, and am disappointed that Oxford appears not to want a world-class arts facility to complement the fact that the city is a centre of excellence in so many other ways.
Surely the city council should look seriously at finding the space and the funding to provide a concert hall/arts centre which would be a great asset to the city and of which we could all be proud?
