MICHAEL Raphel (Oxford Mail, November 21), left his car on double yellow lines in a sensitive area from 10pm (the time the Metropolitan Police were advised a male was seen on CCTV parking and running from a car) until 2am.
He then complained about two controlled explosions to his vehicle.
It was less than a quarter of a mile from Number 10 Downing Street and in the exact area a parade of ex-servicemen and women were due to march to mark the end of the First World War.
There would also have been many visitors in the area from the Royal Family to relatives of soldiers recently killed in action.
We have already had terrible explosions and great loss of life due to terrorist action in London.
Mr Raphel can pose, arms crossed, telling all he will be seeking compensation and an apology from the police, but I’m telling him ‘grow up, gain some sense, read the Highway Code, and get back to running your shop’.
