I THINK it is sickening that any pub would not allow to serve someone in uniform – whether Royal Navy, Army or RAF. What about nurses, police, or firemen?
I remember when I was in my teens, my father who was in the Army at the time, went to his local pub The Exeter, in Oxford Road, Cowley.
He was in his civvies, and my uncle was in blue RAF uniform as he was injured.
My uncle was told he could go to the ‘off licence’ door of the pub, but my Dad could be served.
My Dad changed his local.
