Police are appealing for information after a series of burglaries where thieves broke into homes across Oxfordshire and stole cars.

All of the break-ins occurred some time overnight between yesterday and this morning.

One of the break-ins was at a property in Donnington Close, Witney, where thieves stole a black Ford Focus Zetec hatchback, registration AY57 WOD. Thieves also stole a laptop and a purse containing money and credit cards.

The second burglary in the series was at a property in Woodstock Road, Oxford, where a black Ford Focus, registration YK53 PBF, was stolen, along with a set of golf clubs.

The third burglary was at a property in Homestall Close, Botley, where thieves stole a blue Ford Fiesta Zetec, registration OE08 WZT.

Sgt Rob Hughes said: “We think there is a very good chance that these break-ins are connected and we would urge anyone with information to come forward and contact us as soon as possible.

“I would also like to remind people to ensure their properties are completely secured whenever they are out or in bed.

"Make sure that all windows and doors are locked and any car keys are stored somewhere secure and out of sight.”
