CHILDREN had a ball with a former Oxford United footballer when he dropped in to teach them some fitness skills.
Youngsters from the Co-operative Childcare nursery at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Headley Way, Oxford, teamed up with Jamie Brooks, who now plays for Oxford City.
Nursery manager Jan Thorp said: “We had some footballs and they were throwing and kicking them around.
“Jamie is one of the dads so the children know him and see him every day.
“He has a son Rudi, aged 18 months, at the nursery.”
Operations manager Haydn Lunn said: “The nursery at the JR has a natural affiliation with keeping healthy and fit, so inviting the children to celebrate their ‘new’ nursery while learning about well-being is all part of the Co-operative Way.”
The fitness session marked changes in the nursery’s name from Imagine Co-operative Childcare to The Co-operative Childcare.
