Burglars broke into three homes in Carterton in the early hours of yesterday.

A property in Carr Avenue, Carterton was broken into and the keys to a Skoda Octavia and the car itself were stolen. They also stole two laptops and a mobile phone.

A house in Chandler Close, Bampton, was also broken into and a handbag and keys to a Honda Civic Type R were stolen. However, the car was not taken because other vehicles were blocking it in the driveway.

A laptop and two handbags were stolen during a third burglary at Pembroke Place in Carterton. The handbag was later found and police said it appeared the thieves had tried to use the bank cards.

Det Sgt Craig Kirby said: “We would urge anyone with information to contact us as soon as possible.

“I would also remind people to ensure that their car keys, purses and bags are kept safe and hidden away and that any doors and windows are kept locked.

“If you have a garage, then please use it to park your vehicle in.”
