Police are appealing for witnesses after an attempted robbery in Littlemore.

At about 6pm on Saturday, a 15-year-old girl was walking in the alleyway which leads to Cardinal Close, when she was approached by a man who asked her for money. She explained she didn’t have any so the man grabbed her and scratched her face with an object.

The offender was white, about 5ft 8in tall, skinny, in his twenties, with thin black hair. He was wearing black Nike gloves with a tick on the rear of the hand and a thin jacket.

Det Con Josie Craig said: “Thankfully the girl was not badly hurt but has obviously been left shaken by the incident.

“I appeal to anyone who was in Littlemore on Saturday evening and saw a man acting suspiciously to contact police.”
