A BAFTA-winning film-maker brought the secrets of the silver screen to an Oxford school.

Pawel Pawlikowski, who was honoured for his work on My Summer of Love and Last Resort, visited the Cherwell School in North Oxford on Tuesday.

The Polish-born director, now based in Oxford, showed members of the school’s film club his 40-minute film Twockers, then held a question-and-answer session.

Pupil Ianto Cannon, 14, said: “If you watch a film at home you don’t get an introduction from someone who knows about it and you can’t talk about it straight away afterwards.

“I've never met a director before and I didn't know what a director did to make a film.”
