WHILE visiting Templars Square, Cowley, on Wednesday, November 11, Armistice Day, I was amazed that the management there hadn’t bothered to have a bugler sound the Last Post.
This is a time when we were supposed to be remembering all the soldiers, sailors and airmen who were killed during the two world wars and other conflicts – including the recent fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.
There were also people talking during the two minutes’ silence.
It was a disgrace, and an insult to all those people killed during various different campaigns – as well as their families – that they were not remembered properly.
I can only hope that this won’t occur next year.
