A THIEF snatched a handbag while its owner was enjoying a cup of tea and cake in an Oxford cafe.
Police are appealing for witnesses after a 55-year-old woman’s grey bag was stolen from Patisserie Valerie, in High Street, Oxford, between 4.30pm and 5pm on Monday.
The thief was in her early 20s, with long brown hair and was wearing a light-coloured jacket.
Det Sgt Matt Jarman said: “The victim was sat down having a cup of tea when her bag was stolen.
“I appeal to anyone who in the shop at this time on Monday and saw a woman acting suspiciously to contact me.”
A purse in the bag contained £45 cash, a driving licence and bank cards.
