Motorists faced delays on the A34 Western Bypass, Oxford, today after reports of a cow on the road.
Police used a rolling road block on the southbound carriageway between the Peartree Interchange and the Botley Interchange, while they searched for the animal.
Drivers also faced delays on the M40 southbound between junction ten at the Cherwell Valley Services and junction nine at Wendlebury after a two-car crash blocked the outside lane.
A spokesman for South Central Ambulance said paramedics attended the crash, but the drivers did not need any treatment.
