Do we have a different type of student comming to Oxford these days?
We live next door to a group of students in East Oxford who are up drinking seven nights a week until the early hours of the morning.
We get woken up at all times during the night with people comming and going in taxis, banging doors, smoking and being sick.
There is rubbish in their front garden and the bins are left out on the pavement.
Cowley Road is full of students in fancy dress most nights and – even in the cold, damp weather – some of them wear very little clothes.
They drink, smoke and swear so much that even big, burly builders would struggle to keep up with them.
Where do they get the money, when do they study, and how do they get degrees at the end of their courses?
It may be good for the pubs and Tesco to be in ‘student land’, but for the few owner-occupiers left around here it’s a nightmare.
