Three drivers have been taken to hospital following a head-on collision near Wallingford.

Emergency services were called to the accident on the A4074 near the Berinsfield roundabout, shortly before 7.40am.

The road remains closed in both directions between the Shillingford roundabout and the Dorchester turn, and traffic is tailing back in both directions.

The head-on crash involved a Peugeot 205 and a white Ford Transit van. A Ford Ka was also involved.

Thames Valley Police spokesman David Staines said: "The woman driver of the Peugeot 205 suffered head, arm and chest injuries but her condition was not thought to be life-threatening."

He added that the woman driver of the Ford Ka suffered a broken arm, and the male driver of the van suffered a neck injury.

All three have been taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

Mr Staines added: “The vehicles involved in the crash are now being recovered, so the road is likely to be reopened in the near future.”
