AN Oxford pub is urging people to improve their knowledge of bangers as part of British Sausage Week.
The Chequers Pub, in High Street, is well known for its variety of unusual types of sausages, which include Venison, Juniper and Gin, and Scottish Game and Blackberry.
The pub, which changes its sausage menu each season, has been handing out sausage related quiz sheets to celebrate the week. Winners will be offered a free meal.
Assistant manager Andy Smith, pictured with kitchen manager Pawel Laska, left, said there were 10 different types of sausage on the menu in honour of the week.
He said: “The most popular choice this week has been the Scottish Game and Blackberry sausage.
“People seem to love it.”
Landlord Steve Edwards added: “We are very famous for our sausages here at the Chequers so it seemed only right that we should get behind British Sausage Week. We’re hoping that Oxford’s sausage fans will come and celebrate with us.”
