Ramraiders ploughed a car through the front doors of a sandwich shop today.
A silver Volvo reversed into Subway, in Majors Road, in Shrivenham, at around 2am.
Four white men, with their faces covered by scarves, ran inside and attempted to open the safe.
They failed and fled empty handed.
Det Con Peter Semczyszyn, of Thames Valley Police, said: “The Volvo was recovered burnt out nearby in Fernham, near Faringdon.
“I appeal to anyone who has seen a suspicious silver Volvo car in the area over the weekend to contact police immediately.”
