Police are appealing for witnesses after two robberies in Wallingford.

At about 2am on Saturday, a 19-year-old man was walking home along Fir Tree Avenue when a small, dark blue, three-door car drove up and an Asian man got out of the passenger side.

The driver then got out of the car. He was wearing a light-coloured hooded top, with the hood pulled over his face.

The man was assaulted before the two men stole his MP3 player and got back into the car The passenger was about 17 or 18 years old, approximately 5ft 2in tall, skinny with short, dark hair and was wearing light coloured clothing.

The driver was about 6ft tall and well built.

At about 2.40am, a number of young people were on the Bridge in Wallingford, walking towards Crowmarsh.

The group was followed by a small blue car, thought to contain four people, when two men got out of the car and assaulted two boys, aged 14 and 16, near to Wilders Tractors. The men also stole items including mobile phones, cash and iPods.

One of the men was Asian, believed to be Thai, and aged about 18. He was about 5ft 4in tall, with short straight black hair and had light stubble on his face.

Det Con Stephen Knight said: “I believe that the robbers in these two incidents could be the same people.

“There were a number of cars seen going over the bridge at Wallingford, including buses, and I appeal to anyone who might have seen a blue car in the area, or any suspicious behaviour, to contact me.”
