Thousands of pounds was stolen in a series of late-night raids across Oxfordshire.
Three men wearing balaclavas forced open the front door of Barclays Bank, in Marcham Road, Abingdon, sometime between 1am and 1.30am today. They stole £7,500, all in coins.
At about 1am, a gang broke into McDonald’s, in Oxford Road, Benson, cut a hole in the restaurant’s safe and stole about £5,000 in notes and coins.
A third attempted raid took place at Wantage Service Station at 1.24am and officers are keeping an open mind if all three are linked.
It is believed the burglars were in a dark-coloured, medium-sized hatchback car, similar to an Audi A3.
