BICESTER’S streets will be alive with music as the eighth annual jazz festival rolls into town.

Musicians will be playing in Garth Park, Bicester Village and Wyevale Garden centre over the weekend of August 8 and 9.

In a joint initiative between Bicester Village and the town council, acts including Blusey Susie, Boulevard Swing, trumpeter Bryan Corbett and Esther Miller, will return to entertain the crowds.

There are also two newcomers to the event – singer songwriter Gwyneth Herbert and Sarah Gillespie will perform at Bicester Village on both days.

The weekend kicks off at 10.30am on Saturday in Bicester Village, and runs through until 8pm, with music continuing at restaurants Carluccio’s and Villandry. In Garth Park, off Launton Road, a picnic concert with Ricardo Gazzini’s Jazz and dancing from Ceroc Oxford takes place from 3pm alongside Bicester Beer Festival and a performance by band Blakes Heaven from 7.30pm.

There will be entertainment in the park on Sunday and the Oxford Classic Jazz Quartet will perform at Wyevale from noon.

Miranda Markham, of Bicester Village, said: “We are already getting a lot of inquiries from people looking forward to seeing old friends and regular performers.”
