I WAS asked by a couple of OAPs if I could take some garden waste to the recycling centre.

We loaded it on to my trailer and off we went.

On arrival I was told that I could not unload it, as, because I was using my pick-up to tow the trailer, it was classed as commercial. If I had been using a car it would not have been a problem.

I was forced to make a round trip of 30 miles to another recycling centre, still using my pick-up, where there was no problem.

The next day a load of asbestos was dumped on the roadside along Cuddesdon Road. Horspath (pictured above).

By the attitude of the ‘jobsworth’ at the first recycling centre over the green waste, is it any surprise people resort to fly tipping?
