GIVING a platform for the racist BNP ahead of the European elections is a new low for the BBC.

It is not only covering their election campaign, but it has also given them platforms on different current affairs programs, including the Daily Politics and Newsnight.

So far I have not seen the BBC giving the same publicity to other small parties like the Greens – which already has one MEP.

The Daily Telegraph’s ill-timing of publishing MPs’ expenses has increased the chances of the BNP gaining more protest votes and, therefore, increasing their chances of gaining their first seat in the European Parliament.

While exposing the practices of members of the three main political parties is extremely important, its timing will only benefit the BNP.
