Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to a fatal collision that occurred on Sunday in Bix, near Henley.

At about 1pm, two Suzuki motorcycles were being ridden along the A4130 from Benson towards Henley. As they left the village of Bix, one of the bikes left the road on the dual carriageway section and collided with a tree.

The rider, a 36-year-old woman, was declared dead at the scene.

PC Ed Crofts said: “We are still trying to establish the cause of this collision. We would like to hear from anyone who saw the motorbikes travelling from Benson to Bix prior to the collision, or who witnessed the collision itself.

“We are particularly keen to speak with the following people:

  • A cyclist who stopped at the scene. He may have spoken with a South African accent and may have been wearing a high visibility jacket.
  • A motorcyclist who arrived at the scene shortly afterwards. He spoke with a northern English accent.
  • A minibus that stopped at the scene, which could belong to a local school or organisation.
  • A driver of a silver Mercedes SLK, which was travelling towards Benson, near Nettlebed, on the A4130. He or she may have seen the motorcycles travelling in the opposite direction.
