Police have appealed for witnesses after a man's Volkswagen Polo crashed into a set of traffic lights in Summertown yesterday.
Officers were called to the crash near Finders Keepers estate agents at 4.30pm.
The driver, a 73-year-old man, was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in a critical condition.
Officers said he had suffered a “medical episode” while driving.
The south end of Banbury Road remained closed until 8pm.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle prior to the accident has been urged to contact PC Gary Froud at Abingdon police station on 08458 505505.
