Police are appealing for information following a collision in the Market Place, Faringdon.

At 10.23pm yesterday, near to the Wheatsheaf pub, a silver Peugoet 306 collided with a parked blue BMW 5 Series.

No one was injured and a man was arrested in relation to the collision.

PC Ed Crofts said: “It is believed that after the collision three people were seen running away from the scene.

“One man has subsequently been arrested but I appeal to anyone who might have seen the collision happen, or the people leaving the scene just afterwards, to get in touch.

“There may be people that saw the group of people or the car being driven before the collision and I urge anyone with any information to contact me.

“I am also keen to find out more information about the silver Peugeot 306, registration N615 EWR. We believe that this car could be stolen and are keen to trace its owner.”

A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of taking a motor vehicle without consent and has been released on bail until May 8. He was also arrested for possession of Class B drugs and has been cautioned.

Anyone with information can contact PC Naomi Gardiner via 0845 8 505 505, or if you don’t want to talk to the police or give your name, call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
