A list of the people convicted of offences at magistrates' courts around the county recently.

AT OXFORD: Leigh Bower, 36, of Abingdon Road, Oxford, admitted stealing a bottle of wine and painkillers worth £9.51 from the Co-op in Oxford on March 3. Given 12 month conditional discharge.

Jason Chia, 48, of The Slade, Headington, Oxford, admitted drink driving on the A40 at Oxford on January 25 with 83 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. Fined £500, ordered to pay £60 costs and a £15 victim surcharge. Banned from driving for 16 months.

Julian Gunnett, 33, of North Way, Headington, admitted possessing cannabis in Oxford on February 22. Given four week curfew from 7.30pm to 7.30am.

John McFadyen, 21, of no fixed address, admitted causing £200 damage to wooden doors at Templars Square Shopping Centre in Cowley on January 1. Given 12 month supervision order.

Dominic O’Neill, 68, of no fixed address, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour in Oxford on March 12. Fined £85 and ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge.

Kevin Short, 40, of Butterwyke Place, Oxford, admitted burgling Goldsmiths in the Westgate Centre, Oxford, on March 11, and stealing £7 cash. Jailed for 14 weeks.

Matthew Mortimer, 35, of Bramble Bank, Witney, admitted stealing a bottle of wine worth £5.99 from the Co-op in Madley Park, Witney, on February 7. Also admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour in Witney on February 6, February 18 and February 19. Given 12 month supervision order and ordered to pay £30 costs and £5.99 compensation.

William Hendron, 20, of Oxford Road, Bletchingdon, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour in Oxford on December 7. Given 12 month supervision order and ordered to pay £60 costs.

Martin Cox, 32, of Glynswood, Chinnor, admitted driving while unfit through drugs in Donnington Bridge Road, Oxford, on October 17. Given 12 month supervision order with treatment for drug dependency, ordered to pay £60 costs and banned from driving for two years.

Daniel Ryan, 21, of Iffley Road, Oxford, admitted stealing a pair of jeans worth £110 from Republic Ltd in Oxford on February 10. Given 12 month supervision order with drug dependency treatment.

Jason Glover, 28, of Brampton Road, Headington, admitted stealing toiletries and food from Waitrose, Somerfield and the Co-op in Abingdon on March 13. Also admitted stealing an electric shaver from Superdrug in Abingdon and two pairs of sports socks worth £15.98 from Touchwood Sports in Abingdon on the same day. Also admitted stealing baby products worth £22.63 from Boots in Oxford before January 21, and committing a further offence during a suspended sentence. Jailed for 24 weeks.

Shamsul Karim, 25, of Nowell Road, Oxford, admitted possessing cannabis on March 4 in Oxford. Given 12 month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £60 costs.

Johnathan Steeds, 41, of Paradise Street, Oxford, admitted possessing cannabis on March 2 in Oxford. Given 12 month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £30 costs.

Scott Weddell, 30, of no fixed address, admitted harassment between December 4 and March 1 in Berinsfield. Given five year restraining order and a 12 month supervision order.

Paul Marriott, 44, of Windmill Road, Headington, convicted in his absence of stealing cosmetics and a magazine worth £16.33 from Sainsbury’s in Oxford on August 30. Also failing to surrender to custody at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on November 29 having been released on bail, committing a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge and during a suspended sentence and stealing four CDs worth £49 from Virgin in Oxford on May 8, 2007. Fined £200 and ordered to pay £100 costs.

Marcus Charlett, 50, of Devereux Place, Rose Hill, Oxford, convicted of stealing a pork leg and joint of roast beef worth £26.08 from Sainsbury’s in Oxford on October 15. Given 12 month conditional discharge.

Jason El-Issa, 21, of Morrell Avenue, Oxford, convicted in absence of driving other than in accordance with a licence and using a vehicle without insurance in Cowley Road, Oxford, on June 21. Fined £550 and ordered to pay £60 costs and a £15 victim surcharge. Also banned from driving for 12 months.

Dominic Fay, 24, of Church Road, Horspath, admitted using a vehicle without insurance and driving other than in accordance with a licence on the A40 in Risinghurst on February 28. Fined £180, ordered to pay £60 costs and a £15 victim surcharge. Banned from driving for three months.

Daniel Coulling, 31, of Arthur Garrard Close, Oxford, admitted drink driving in Marston Ferry Road, Oxford, on March 6 with 79 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. Fined £395 and ordered to pay £60 costs and a £15 victim surcharge. Also banned from driving for 20 months.

Derek Greig, 43, of Donnington Bridge Road, Oxford, admitted stealing toiletries worth £15.82 from Boots in Oxford on February 27, stealing two bottles of alcohol worth £17.85 from Somerfield in Oxford on October 31, 2007, and committing a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge. Fined £75 and ordered to pay £70 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

Alexander Walker, 27, of Speedwell Street, Oxford, admitted stealing jackets worth £74.99 and £159.99 from Blacks in Oxford on February 14 and February 15. Ordered to pay £234.98 compensation.

Stephen Laughton, 31, of Warburg Crescent, Blackbird Leys, Oxford, admitted stealing eight T-shirts worth £179.92 from Freespirit in Cornmarket Street, Oxford, and going equipped for theft by having a foil lined bag on March 8. Jailed for 100 days.

Ashley Smith, 21, of Clarks Row, Oxford, admitted stealing food and a magazine worth £9.05 from Sainsburys in Oxford on March 10, and a pair of pliers worth £9.99 from Robert Dyas in Oxford on March 17. Given two month curfew from 6.45pm to 6.45am.

Margaret Carmichael, of Sandford Road, Littlemore, admitted assault by beating on January 3, 2008, in Littlemore. Given absolute discharge.

AT DIDCOT: David Dewsbury, 19, of Station Road, Didcot, admitted possessing two wraps of cocaine in Didcot on January 25. Given 100 hours of unpaid work and ordered to pay £80 costs.
