A CHEF who exchanged child porn with a circle of other paedophiles has been jailed for 20 months.

Paul Child was caught after sending a text message to a “dangerous” paedophile who had already been identified by the police.

Officers found six discs containing hundreds of indecent images of children when they raided Child’s home in Kidlington, Oxford.

Child handed over the discs after telling the officers: “I wondered how long it would be before you came to my door.”

Analysis of two mobile phones also seized from Child revealed he had been exchanging indecent images with convicted distributor Kevin Kyberd.

Kyberd, 55, from Pickworth, near Bourne, Lincs, was jailed indefinitely last year after a judge branded him a dangerous “predatory sexual offender.”

The court heard Kyberd posed as a 15-year-old boy and persuaded young girls to send him indecent photos of themselves on his mobile phone.

Michael Cranmer-Brown, prosecuting, said Child began exchanging images with Kyberd after coming across on him on a mobile phone chat room.

Police found 1,901 indecent images and 12 videos on the mobile phones and discs sent to Child by Kyberd.

Child also admitted exchanging images with two other people known only as Jane and Chris.

During an interview Child admitted sharing some of the images, telling officers: “I was drunk, it was fun.”

Child, 44, of Beech Crescent, admitted 10 charges of distributing, possessing and inciting indecent images of children over four months in 2007.

He was ordered to register as a sex offender for 10 years, disqualified from working with children for life and banned from being alone with a child.
