Work began over the weekend in Oxford to renew railway track to allow passenger trains on the branch line to Bicester to run between the city’s station and Oxford North junction without crossing on to the main lines and conflicting with other trains.
As part of the project, due for completion later this year, goods train loop lines between the station and Wolvercot junction will also be upgraded, to allow their use by passenger trains.
