Pantomimes and tea parties have long been New Year traditions.
The picture was taken at Witney Dramatic Society’s production of Dick Whittington in January 1969.
Ann Mills played the cat, Dick was Cheryl James and the part of Alice was taken by Pauline Busby.
The cast gave four performances to enthusiastic audiences at the Corn Exchange.
And there were lots of happy faces at a party at Lake Street community centre, in South Oxford, in 1978.
They belonged to the children of Post Office workers in Oxford.
After the 73 four to 10-year-olds had munched through sandwiches, rolls and cake, parents were invited to join in the fun.
Steve Viner, the treasurer of the Post Office Sports and Social Club, told the Oxford Mail: “We like to make it a family affair.”
Do you recognise any of the children – and where are the Dick Whittington actors and actresses now?
