Oxford United chairman Kelvin Thomas has finished giving evidence to a panel at the Football Conference headquarters in Birmingham over a charge of fielding an illegible player.

United stand accused of playing midfielder Eddie Hutchinson having failed to properly register him as a player.

If found guilty, the club could be docked 11 points - those gained while Hutchinson appeared for the club - which would leave them in the Blue Square Premier relegation zone. When asked after the hearing what he thought United's chances of winning the appeal were, Mr Thomas replied "50-50".
