Sir — I was interested to read (The Oxford Times, September 26, Country Matters) that the Chiltern gentians were now at their best.
On Thursday, September 25, a friend took me to the area and I was disappointed to find that they were well over.
Apparently the peak time for these beautiful flowers this year was the end of August/early September. Has Jenny Crook visited the reserve recently?
