Last time I blogged, I had just decided to enter the London Triathlon having 'enjoyed' Blenheim and I joined Oxford Tri Club.
That week I decided to take things a bit easy being a bit knackered from my Tri debut but then, thanks to my petri dish of a daughter, caught one of the most virulent tummy bugs I have ever had which wiped me out for a week.
So two weeks on I had to start again and it is painful trying to get that fitness back - the cycle to work is hard and motivating myself to run is harder.
The saving grace is that, as a member of Oxford Tri, I can go swimming in Cassington gravel pits (on pr-arranged dates of course).
That may not sound great to some but it is so much better than swimming in a pool with the hoi poloi either getting in your way or forcing their way past as they do their 'sprint training'.
I also foolishly said I would get myself a new bike for the next tri but my bank account is also suffering an injury and needs to rest so out comes the gardening twine to fix up the old beats!
