Bit late on parade this week. I try to write these epics on Friday afternoon, but this weekend had the dubious pleasure of risking life, limb and tedium on the M25 on route to Sussex and the in-laws. In trying to beat the rush hour which now seems to extend from around 1.45 to 8pm I forgot about my blogging commitments.
Well what's been happening in the hurly-burly world of the KBDG this week. What titbit can I tantalise you with? What excitement has there been? What happened at club night on Tuesday-where to finish really-not a lot is the answer. The spring production rehearsals for The Collector (April 26th-28th Village Hall seats in all parts at present) are in full swing. The social side is dormant at present and we still haven't decided on our entry into the ODN festival. Not quite true about the social side as a trip to London to see Boeing-Boeing was in the offing but not oversubscribed I am led to believe. Pity-great play.
Talking about great plays, an excursion on Thursday by my bride and myself to Cheltenham culminated in a visit to the Everyman Theatre to see The Unexpected Guest. heavy cast with Simon MacCorkindale, Tracey Childs, Frazer Hines, Dean Gaffney and Mark Wynter (Remember him? All of a certain age will recall his recording Venus in Blue Jeans-Ah happy days.)
I digress, I felt the production was very dated, lacked inspiration with the set building and some parts were so wooden I was surprised dry rot hadn't set in. Apart from that it was quite enjoyable.
