HOW typical. Just as the weather starts getting really nice, I am scaling down my running.
With the marathon approaching, I am cutting my distance by 25 per cent a week. I wouldn't mind that so much if the weather was miserable, but with the sun shining, it is much harder to rein in my running addiction.
I was at visiting my parents in Surrey over Easter and had to ration myself to a seven-miler on Saturday. When the weather is as nice as it has been recently, I would expect even the most sceptical runner might enjoy themselves in the great outdoors.
I can only hope the sun holds out until April 22, but if it doesn't I have trained in all weathers, so will be ready. Meanwhile, the money has started coming in for my 'moustache pledge' and it looks fairly certain that I will be running through the capital with facial hair akin to Ben Stiller in Dodgeball.
