A combined effort has turned the garden of Didcot Community Hospital into a showpiece just in time for the hospital fete on Bank Holiday Monday.

The clean-up project started with the gardening club set up by Style Acre, a local charity which supports adults with learning difficulties to live independently.

They started the project, but because of the bad weather last year, could not complete it.

So project and volunteer co-ordinator Barry Perkins enlisted the help of workers from Didcot power station, the Community Service Volunteers and Midcounties Co-op to add the finishing touches.

Mr Perkins, pictured front, with some of those involved, said: "We hope the people of Didcot will follow this example of good neighbourliness and take a pride in caring for their hospital."
