A hunger strike at Campsfield House detention centre in Kidlington is over, a Home Office official confirmed today.
Up to 70 detainees had been on hunger strike over the past fortnight, with a group of Iraqi detainees refusing food the longest.
Yesterday, the last two remaining protesters ended their hunger strike and accepted prepared meals.
The incident was sparked by reports that a 35-year-old from another centre had killed himself following his deportation back to Iraq.
The UK Border Agency said earlier that no detainee had been treated in hospital due to refusal of food.
Home Office spokesman Nick Logan said: "The hunger-strike at Campsfield has now ended and all detainees are accepting prepared meals."
He added said staff at the centre had been in constant consultation with detainees throughout the protest, to listen to their grievances.
