A woman driver died this morning following a crash between two cars on a road near Wantage.
The accident happened shortly before 6am on the B4494 between Wantage and Farnborough.
Firefighters cut the drivers free from the vehicles on Chainhill Road, near the Ridgeway, before they were treated by paramedics.
Vicky Brandon, a spokesman for Thames Valley Police, said: "One woman driver has died following a collision between a Ford Escort and VW Golf.
"The road is closed while accident investigators examine the scene and it is likely to remain closed until at least lunchtime."
