Hatwell’s funfair returns to Wallingford on Thursday the 2nd of May through to Monday the 6th of May 2024. Opening from 5pm on weeknights and 1pm on weekends (the Monday bank holiday included).

The funfair will take place at the usual spot of the Kinecroft. The Kinecroft also provides a home for other annual events throughout the year such as Bunkfest, Bonfire Night and the Classic Car Rally in addition to multiple other events – making it an accessible spot for all to reach.

In setting up, it seems there will be the typical funfair activities such as ‘Hook-a-duck’ with a selection of prizes on offer for those who win, easy-going rides such the Helter Skelter, in addition to more fast paced rides for those who enjoy a more thrilling and energetic experience. The wide variety of rides and activities ensure a great time for all who choose to attend.

The Hatwell family established their fairground business in 1840. This history of operating fairgrounds in the Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire area has continued into the twentieth and twenty first centuries with different descendants from the family leading separate fairground businesses. This includes Perry Hatwell who takes the lead in operating the ‘Perry Hatwell’s Funfairs’ around the Oxfordshire area, in addition to Gloucestershire.

The funfair is sure to be successful this year, following the consistent popularity from previous years with the common atmosphere of fun and energy being evident throughout the visits of the fair with the hopeful accompaniment of some sunny weather.
