The Encyclopedia of Rootical Folklore, a treasury of African and diaspora plant stories and verses by Natty Mark Samuels, is set to launch on May 8, 2024.
A launch event will then follow accompanied by an exhibition.
It is scheduled to take place on Friday, May 10, from 6pm to 9pm, at 95 Gloucester Green, Oxford.
The exhibition will open again on Saturday, May 11 from 12pm to 5pm.
The book comprises 88 entries on various plants, each brought to life with botanical data and illustrations by Nancey B.
Readers can expect folklore blending ancient wisdom with present-day insights, a glossary, multilingual species index, and references.
