A WARRANT for arrest has been issued for a driver accused of causing the death of a woman in a Kidlington crash.

Dariusz Meczynski, 50, has been charged with one count of dangerous driving after the death of Patricia Grace, 74, from Kidlington, on October 20, 2022.

She was struck by the Scania large goods vehicle as she was crossing Oxford Road near the junction with Churchill Road.

Her cause of death was ruled as ‘multiple injuries’ after a post-mortem examination.

Meczynski, of Miedzyrzec Podlaski, was due to appear at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (April 23) for his first hearing.

Instead, a warrant has been issued for his arrest after he failed to attend the hearing.

Speaking after Mrs Grace’s death, Andrew Gant, Oxfordshire County Council’s cabinet member for highways management, said: “We send our sincere condolences to the family of the person who tragically died in this incident.
