A series of events are set to take place to raise money and highlight the impact of a charity fund.

The Didcot Powerhouse Fund is encouraging the community to join their spring events which feature pub quizzes, litter picking initiatives and a car wash.

Powerhouse gives out grants to volunteer and charity organisations in and around Didcot.

Preliminary heats for the pub quiz tournament will take place on May 29.

The winning teams will compete in the final on June 5 at The Barn in Didcot.

Ten pubs are already signed up to take part in the fundraiser, with more expected to join.

To take part, form a quiz team of up to six people and sign up at a participating pub.

Powerhouse committee member, Di Chesterman, who is organising the quiz, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity to represent your favourite pub and to raise valuable funds."

There will also be multiple litter picking activities happening in Didcot next month.

The events will take place at The Ladygrove Pub on May 4, Didcot Wave Leisure Centre on May 11, and Boundary Park Sports Club on May 25.

Each litter pick will take place from 10am to midday and all equipment will be provided.

A car wash, run by Powerhouse Turbine donor, Valerian Court, will be held on May 11 from 10am – 3pm.

This is a cash-only event with funds going to Powerhouse and Valerian Court Residents.
